Japanese Celebration <Shichi-Go-San>

Shichigosan, a ceremony to celebrate and pray for the healthy growth of children, is held at the ages of 3, 5, and 7, as the name suggests. In the past, child mortality was very high, so children up to the age of 7 were treated as "children of the gods." Therefore, a child's safe growth was a source of great joy, and parents could not help but pray for their child's healthy growth. At the age of 3, both boys and girls undergo the "Kamioki no Gi" ceremony. At the age of 5, only boys undergo the "Hakamagi no Gi" ceremony, and at the age of 7, girls undergo the "Obitoki no Gi" ceremony, which involves worship and a ritual.
When the children turn seven years old, they are recognized by God as full-fledged human beings, and we express our gratitude to God for allowing them to grow up safely up to this point, and pray for their continued healthy growth.
