Setsubun is coming soon ♪
Not only the bean-throwing custom, but also the custom of eating ehomaki has become well established. Miho introduced us to some cute Setsubun meals that children can enjoy together!
In celebration of Setsubun, we'll introduce you to a cute recipe for an omelet ehomaki with a tiger pattern inspired by the demon's pants.
Pour the well-mixed eggs into a frying pan, and when the first side starts to dry, turn off the heat, flip the eggs over, and cook the second side in the residual heat.
Mix rice with ketchup and corn to make ketchup rice. This time, I used 60g of white rice (or soft rice), 2 teaspoons of ketchup, and 10g of corn.
Shape the dough into a long, thin strip using plastic wrap.
Cut the thin omelet into a rectangle, place the ketchup rice on top and roll it up. I made the thin omelet about the size of 1/3 of an egg.
While it's resting, cut the nori seaweed. I'm thinking of hijiki seaweed! It will look similar even if you cut it roughly.
Put a small amount of mayonnaise on the back of the nori and stick it down to create a tiger pattern.
Once it's pasted all over, it's done!
◀ Onepoint Advice ▶
We have devised ways to make it delicious for children as well. Depending on the age of your child, it may be easier to eat if you cut it into slices. If you add seasoning to the thin omelet or ketchup rice, adults can also enjoy it♪
