The "Kenjo Tezome Yuzen no Koi: Kyō Nishiki" realistically expresses the elegant form of nishikigoi (ornamental carp) with the brushstrokes of Japanese-style painter Shunho Tokunaga. The unique colors of nishikigoi are dyed with a seven-color gradation, and fan-shaped gold accents are applied to the entire scales. To resemble real nishikigoi, each black, red, and blue carp is dyed with a different pattern. The streamers, themed with water and sky, feature a traditional Japanese indigo gradation adorned with auspicious cranes. The material is a special three-dimensional woven fabric, a new material that shimmers with a silvery-white luster when exposed to sunlight.

is a leading Japanese-style painter in Okayama.

Studying under Shinsui Ito, famous for his bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful women), Shunho created unprecedentedly elegant and graceful koinobori with his unique worldview and delicate brushwork characteristic of Japanese painting, shocking the industry.

His representative koinobori works include "Keishuku no Koi Kitcho" and "Kenjo Tezome Yuzen no Koi: Kyō Nishiki." These hugely popular works have continued to be long-sellers across generations.
