二十四節気 第14番【処暑 -しょしょ-】

No. 14 [Shosho]

Twenty-Four Seasons No. 14 [Shosho]

As the name suggests, ``Shojo'' is the time when the heat has passed and a cool breeze begins to blow in the morning and evening.

As the heat subsides, you can also hear the cool sounds of insects.
The previous seasonal seasons, ``First Autumn'' and ``Shoja'', are early autumn.

In Japan, the heat from the lingering heat to the end of summer tends to last for a long time, but this is also the time when many typhoons approach.
(Incidentally, ``lingering heat'' refers to the heat from ``first day of autumn'' to ``autumn equinox.'') Farmers have long used this as a guideline, based on their experience of many typhoons and water disasters during this season.
The 210th day from the first day of spring is called the 210th day , and the 220th day is called the 220th day , and it has been passed down as a bad day or stormy day to remind people to never let their guard down. Ta.

On days around the 210th day to protect crops from damage from wind and rain.
Wind festivals (Kazematsuri) are held all over the country (particularly in the Kanto, Chubu, and Tokai regions, the folklore of wind gods and wind shrines is strong in the Kanto, Chubu, and Tokai regions).
Ceremonies and festivals are held to calm the wind.

Records of such customs and major disasters include the Great Kanto Earthquake that occurred on September 1, 1923, and the Second Muroto Typhoon and Isewan Typhoon that occurred in September. September 1st was established as Disaster Prevention Day not only for typhoons but also for all other natural disasters, with the purpose of ``deepening awareness of disasters and preparing the mindset to deal with them.''

Japan has the geographical conditions for many disasters to occur, and has experienced many disasters in the past. I believe that all citizens are currently preparing for the major disasters that are expected to occur in the future.

With the harvest season just around the corner, be sure to check your stockpiles and disaster supplies once a year. In addition to stocking up on disaster prevention goods and looking at information, I think it would be a good idea to learn how to use the goods and take evacuation routes.

If you have pets, we recommend that you check.

Around the time of [Shoja], the Seventy-Ninth War was expressed as follows.

●First sign of death <Watanohanashibe Hiraku>
When the cypress that wraps the cotton begins to open. A cypress is the calyx of a flower. When the cypress begins to open, fluffy fluff will come out from inside.
●Next time <Tenchi Hajime Samushi>
The heat is finally starting to subside. The autumn rain front brings in autumn with cold air.

●Last Descendant <Kokumono, or Minoru>
This is the time when rice is ripening in the fields and the ears are starting to change color. The ears of rice are dripping and shaking. "Head" refers to grains such as rice and wheat.

From summer to autumn.
This is the time when it is easy to get sick due to the large temperature difference.

The ripening rice is green, and it's still a little while until the fall ripens.
Take a breather while relieving yourself of summer fatigue.
Let's wait for the fruitful autumn.
