A Message from Our President

Our company was founded in 1947 when Japanese painter Shunho Tokunaga celebrated the birth of his eldest son by drawing a hand-painted koinobori, and his family spent a joyful day together.

At the time of our founding, koinobori were made by drawing pictures on Japanese paper with a brush, one by one, and then assembling them with glue or hand-stitching. Today, however, our koinobori continue to evolve with advanced dyeing techniques using hand-dyed Yuzen printing, lightweight and durable fabrics, and highly functional installation equipment.

In terms of design, we express a new sense of Japanese beauty within tradition, incorporating Japanese paintings that inherit the spirit of our founder, Shunho, on one hand, and modern patterns from traditional classic designs on the other.

Koinobori are a Japanese seasonal custom that brings forth family love and bonds as they swim gracefully in the May sky. When families look up at them together, moments filled with joy at a child's birth and wishes for their happiness create invaluable memories.

These loving memories will surely remain as precious messages, always close to the hearts of children living in the future.
