Makomo is a wild plant that has been said to be home to gods since ancient times. This handmade soap is made from makomo, which is carefully grown in Izumo without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and the soft spring water of Tamatsukuri Onsen. It also contains olive oil and camellia oil, so you can wash your face gently while keeping it moisturized.
The scent of lavender and juniper will soothe your tired mind. It has a woody, warm and refreshing scent with a hint of spiciness and subtle sweetness.
The cold process method is a traditional, simple method that does not use heat and does not destroy the ingredients, allowing them to slowly mature and dry for over a month. This method also produces a moisturizing ingredient called glycerin, making for a smooth, lathery soap that is gentle on the skin.
This series includes three types: Makomo Cosmetic Soap "Misogi", Yamamomo Cosmetic Soap "En", and Usagi no Shio Cosmetic Soap "Kiyo". Each soap has a stylish color scheme and scent, so you'll want to try them all.

Sannoji, Daito-cho, Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture, is a rural area rich in nature and has been selected as one of the 100 best rice terraces in Japan. The key ingredient of kiu is makomo, which is only grown in this area by Takuwa. The makomo grown in this satoyama area, where the air, water, and sky are beautiful, is very refreshing and healthy.
Aiming to achieve both environmental conservation and agricultural production, Takuwa cultivates rice plants without using any pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and only uses water from the mountain forest.

The hot spring water used is from the source of Tamatsukuri Onsen, which is also known for its skin-beautifying properties.
Ancient Izumo was known as the land of medicine. The Izumo no Kuni Fudoki, compiled 1,300 years ago, lists over 100 types of plants that grew wild in Izumo, more than half of which were medicinal herbs.
In order to preserve the ancient wisdom as a culture, kiu Kiu will continue to create cosmetics that harmonize the skin and mind using ingredients such as plants unique to Izumo that are grown without pesticides by local producers and salt made using traditional methods.
