1. Consider where and in what area you want to display it.
Outdoors? Indoors?
When choosing a koinobori, first consider where and what size koinobori you want to display or can display. In recent years, there are various types of outdoor and indoor koinobori with different display methods and designs, so feel free to imagine.

2. Measure the area while visualizing it.
Measure the desired location and make a note of the dimensions and installation plan.

3. Tell a professional (sales staff).
Tell the sales staff the measurements of the installation location from step 2 and your koinobori image from step 1.
Why tell the sales staff?
"I bought a koinobori, but I wasn't satisfied with it." I actually hear this quite often. It's not a cheap purchase, and it's sad to hear when it was bought to celebrate a grandchild or son. The sales staff are professionals who have flown many koinobori. They can help you with how you want to fly your koinobori and what size koinobori can be flown. Simple measurements and traditional flying methods may not always match your vision.
(The "guide to koinobori sizes" shown in 2 is only a rough guide.) Based on their extensive experience, the staff can suggest koinobori that match your vision as much as possible, as well as flying methods and sizes that will make your garden look wonderful.

2nd Place: Ill-fitting equipment
My parents bought one online and gave it to me as a gift, but when I opened it, the equipment didn't fit and I couldn't set it up. Or, I had to buy a new one.
I bought a popular set online, but the equipment didn't fit.
We often receive inquiries from people who couldn't display their koinobori because the equipment didn't fit. Popular equipment sets sold online are often inexpensive, and some people buy them because of the low price or because they are ranked high. However, there is a reason for the low price, so please be careful.
A common reason for the low price is that the equipment is often designed for older houses (from the Showa or early Heisei eras). In particular, balconies have changed in design over time and depending on the house builder, so care is needed when choosing equipment.
In recent years, koinobori and koinobori equipment made overseas have also been sold.
Some people buy inexpensive overseas-made equipment thinking, "I'll only fly it once a year," but outdoor koinobori can lead to serious accidents if something goes wrong.
Koinobori swim majestically in the sky as they catch the wind. A large wind pressure is applied to each koinobori, and the poles and equipment that support them should be purchased with safety in mind.
It's hard to choose the right equipment! I don't know which one to choose!
In such cases, please consult with a sales representative. We will suggest the equipment that best suits your home.

1st place: Choosing a smaller size
- I chose a "smaller size" because I thought "it might be too big," but it turned out to be too small.
This is the most common answer when it comes to mistakes.
If you follow the dimensions exactly, you often end up buying a small koinobori.
Depending on the location, if the wind blows only from one side, or if the garden is long and narrow,in residential areas, the wind often blows in a consistent direction, so it may be better to have a professional help you choose the size.
- It looked big in the store, but when I actually displayed it outside, it was small.
- The koinobori was too small for the garden, so it didn't look good in pictures and lacked splendor.

For those who want to display koinobori in their garden, or those who can only choose small sizes but still want a splendid impression, or whose location makes it difficult for the wind to blow, we sometimes recommend a product called "Niwa-Deco".

Seven years of flying koinobori to pray for your child's growth.
May that time be enjoyable and enriching for your family, and remain a wonderful memory for your children forever.
