This is a prince and princess display of Hina dolls made by Iyo Ittobori "Nagumo". All of Nagumo's works are handmade by skilled craftsmen. Inheriting the style of the first Buddhist sculptor, the gentle colors and compact, uncluttered scenes are elegant and Japanese, and match well with modern interiors. The wood used is Japanese cypress, which has a soft grain and a beautiful, fragrant aroma. The gentle fragrance of natural woodenvelops you in a warm atmosphere.
The doll is made in the order of wood carving → carving → painting, and finally the eyes are added and a Nagumo wooden doll is completed.
<Carving> The two-stage process of rough carving and detailed finishing is carried out using over a dozen types of knives and chisels to carefully carve the stone. After carving is complete, the head of the stone is polished to a soft surface.
<Coloring> The coloring process is divided into two stages: applying the base coat and then finishing the details. Over twenty different types of brushes are skillfully used to carefully color even the smallest details. Finally, eyes are added and Nagumo's wooden doll is complete.
*Please be careful. As all the work is done by hand, the coloring, facial finish, etc. may not be exactly the same as in the photo. Thank you for your understanding.
