This adorable doll has a sculptural body and a plump, hand-painted face.
It's very interesting to see how the facial expressions change depending on how you draw them.

The kimono fabrics used for Kimekomi are Yuzen-dyed fabrics and Nishijin-ori obi fabrics. The kimono is characterized by gentle colors reminiscent of the arrival of spring.

[About Togyoku]
The history of Higashutama Kobo goes hand in hand with the history of Iwatsuki, the town of dolls.
Iwatsuki, which flourished as a castle town and post town since the Edo period, is blessed with paulownia trees and water suitable for making dolls, and has developed into a town that currently boasts the highest production of dolls in Japan. During the Kaei era, Ryuken Totsuka, a palace doctor for the lord of Iwatsuki Castle, had a hobby of making dolls in addition to his medical work, and when he presented one of his creations to the lord of the castle, he gave him the name ``Togyoku'' along with a word of praise. I was given it. The name of this venerable Hinasmith Togyo has been passed down from generation to generation and has reached the present day, the 6th generation Hinasmith Togyo.
