A cloisonné crest is a continuous crest made of four circles of the same size stacked on top of each other. It is said that the shape of the ring expanding infinitely in all directions is what gave it the shape of four directions, and the four directions became cloisonne.
Kumidashi bowls are considered to have a higher level of formality than teacups, and are generally used for guests with a teacup placed on top. When sencha became popular in Kyoto in the late Edo period, it became popular because its wide mouth and short height allowed the color of the tea to shine through.
