Doll Workshop Heian Dosui: A female craftsman weaves together tradition and innovation in doll making
Heian Dosui is a workshop located in Ningyocho, Konosu City, Saitama Prefecture, which has flourished as a doll town since the Edo period. The workshop employs a team of over 10 female artisans, including a female traditional craftsman who has been in the business for three generations, who design and sew kimonos for Hina dolls, as well as dress them.
While preserving tradition, we are constantly exploring new materials and colors, creating designs that suit a variety of lifestyles.
