Iyo Ittobori Hina Dolls by "Nagumo"
Tradition and warmth for your home
Hina Dolls: Traditional Crafts that Embody the Beauty of Handmade Work
These Hina dolls are a five-piece set by "Iyo Ittobori / Nagumo," a traditional wood carving technique passed down in the Iyo region. This elegant display of five figures, including the Shinno (Imperial Couple) and three court ladies, is a superb masterpiece that celebrates Japan's seasonal festival culture with sophistication.
Ittobori is a technique that emphasizes the natural beauty of wood by eliminating unnecessary lines, pursuing a simple and warm aesthetic. This sets it apart from mass-produced items, making the texture of the wood and the expressions unique to handmade work its charm.

An elegant and harmonious space created by the five-doll display
Shinno (Imperial Couple)
Dignified figures symbolizing the imperial family. Their stately presence commands attention as the centerpiece of the celebration.
Three Court Ladies
They add a gentle and graceful atmosphere, enhancing the splendor of the Hina Matsuri.
The five-doll display is a compact yet full-fledged representation of traditional seasonal beauty. Its excellent design makes it suitable for any space, blending in not only with Japanese-style rooms but also modern interiors.

The Artisan's Skill: Each Piece Finished by Hand
These Hina dolls are meticulously crafted one by one by skilled artisans. The process, from selecting the wood to rough carving, fine detailing, and coloring, is entirely done by hand. The colors used for the faces and costumes are gentle tones that do not detract from the warmth of the wood, creating a comforting atmosphere.
*Due to the handmade nature, there are individual differences in wood grain, coloring, and expression, making each piece a unique charm different from the photos.

【Manufacturing Process】
Made in the order of wood carving → carving → coloring,
the Nagumo wood carving doll is born with the final touch of the eyes.

<Carving>
The carving is done in two stages: rough carving and detailed finishing, meticulously using over a dozen types of small knives and chisels. After carving, the head part is polished to a soft curve.

<Coloring>
The coloring process is also divided into two stages: undercoating and detailed finishing. Over twenty types of brushes are skillfully used to meticulously color every detail.
Finally, the eyes are added, and the Nagumo wood carving doll is born.

Jacquard woven cherry blossom screen adds
refined splendor
The screen features a carefully jacquard-woven fabric with a cherry blossom pattern.
The cherry blossom motif expressed through delicate weaving offers depth and three-dimensionality not found in printed fabrics, adding an elegant splendor to the Hina display.
The subtly emerging cherry blossom pattern against calm colors harmonizes with the gentle wooden texture of Iyo Ittobori, tightening the overall atmosphere while creating a warm space befitting a spring celebration.
The screen, modest yet undeniably present, enhances the dolls and perfects the Hina display as a cherished item for years to come.

Functional beauty: A display stand that doubles as a storage box
The "Tsumugi Five-Doll Set" is designed so that the display stand itself becomes a storage box.
It can be used as an elegant display stand when decorating, and as a storage box that gently protects the dolls when putting them away.
Since the dolls, display stand, and accessories can all be stored together in one box, it saves space, is easy to manage, and allows for smooth setup and cleanup. It reduces the burden of preparing and putting away for the annual festival.
Its compact storage makes it ideal for apartments or homes with limited storage space.

A special Hina display, perfect for gifting
The wood used is natural Hiba wood. Its delicate grain and subtle fragrance bring a rich texture to any space just by displaying it. Hiba wood has been used in architecture and crafts since ancient times, and its charm deepens with use.
This exquisite piece is suitable not only as a seasonal celebration gift but also as a precious gift for family members and grandchildren. The carefully carved wooden dolls and soft colors create a Hina display that will be cherished across generations.
