As the name suggests, "plaid" means a checked pattern, and we designed it with a classic British checked pattern in a modern style. While the overall color scheme is traditional, the light color combination creates a sense of casualness, bringing out the essence of KIMONO Hina. The rough fabric texture and the feel of the Japanese paper screen create a fashionable depth.
　

Enjoy more colors! Fabric

The fabric chosen to incorporate the joy of colors and design was canvas. Canvas fabric might seem far removed from delicate Hina dolls. Canvas is a thick cotton fabric with a large weave and a firm feel. We believed that the Hina doll costumes, which combine straight lines, would create a more edgy silhouette, and the matte texture, along with the colors, would bring out an unprecedented individuality.

We commissioned the fabric from Kurashiki Canvas, a long-established company in our hometown of Okayama.
By fusing tradition with modern sensibility, we created a charming Hina doll display.
 　

＜Kurashiki Canvas (-Kurashiki Hanpu)＞

"Kurashiki Canvas" has spun tradition and woven innovation since 1888. Its
quality relies on highly advanced yarn twisting technology, which has been passed down for over 130 years. Several strands of 100% cotton raw yarn are twisted together to create a flexible yet strong yarn. This yarn is woven on rare "shuttle looms" by skilled craftsmen relying on their experience and intuition, and it is reborn as "Kurashiki Canvas" with a beautifully neat appearance called selvedge.

The blessings of nature from cotton and human dedication nurture the overflowing warmth of first-class canvas.
Its robust, gentle, and soulful texture is proof of our meticulous and dedicated pursuit of "authenticity."

The unique modern and individual facial features of KIMONO Hina are characterized by a soft yet strong expression while being glamorous.
In fact, this is said to be the origin of high-class Hina dolls.

Refining the overall design
Simple and luxurious pedestal and screen

The screen and stand, which prioritize the atmosphere to advantage the dolls,
were carefully crafted with attention to texture and balance.
 

Even though KIMONO Hina appears flashy, to allow you to stylishly display Hina dolls in your room, we have used wide screens and pedestals, increasing the interior appeal through blank space, and providing a relaxed display experience despite being compact Hina dolls. Because it is a decoration, it is designed faithfully to the aesthetic sense of wabi-sabi.

giving it a wide and relaxed appearance.

We drew the KIMONO logo, which has a modern yet somewhat retro image, on a glossy black acrylic Hina doll nameplate. In contrast to the colorful KIMONO Hina, the chic and simple impression of the nameplate further emphasizes the world view.
