A new style of wooden Hina doll
In order to realize the worldview of this work, I attempted to create Hina dolls from scratch using a completely new technique that had never been used before. I undertook a completely new method of making them by carving solid wood from scratch and painting each one by hand, and I ended up with a new type of Hina doll that incorporates high skill and rich expression.
Each piece is carefully carved from solid cypress.
We paid particular attention to the appealing qualities of wood carving, such as expressing the wrinkles and patterns of the kimono in a three-dimensional way. Then we finish it by applying layers of paint by hand.

While valuing the sense of life inherent in the wood material itself, she carefully carves the facial expressions, wrinkles in the clothing, and even patterns of the characters, in pursuit of realism and elegance that makes them seem as if they are alive.
