Issho has the meaning of ``lifetime,'' and when combined with the auspicious mochi, it conveys wishes such as ``never have to worry about food for the rest of your life'' and ``may you stay healthy for the rest of your life.''

The round, flat shape of Issho Mochi also carries the meaning of ``May you live a happy life.''
