• Celebratory carp, auspicious sign

A masterpiece painted by Japanese painter Tokunaga Haruho and painstakingly crafted by skilled craftsmen.

The silk-like jacquard-woven material is woven with the noble paulownia, bamboo, phoenix and kirin motifs favored by aristocrats throughout history. It is dyed using the traditional hand-dyed Yuzen gradation technique and sprinkled with gold glitter to create a more luxurious and gorgeous finish. The streamers are in five traditional colors based on the auspicious wavy undulation pattern. In the center, a winged flying dragon, the highest rank, is depicted to make the dragon in the legend of the Dragon Gate soar even higher.

  • Presented Hand-dyed Yuzen Carp [Kyoto Nishiki]

The endlessly artistic Nishikigoi were painted by the company's founder, Japanese painter Tokunaga Haruho.

"Kenjo Hand-dyed Yuzen Koi Kyo Nishiki" is a realistic depiction of the graceful figure of a Nishikigoi, created by the brush of Japanese painter Tokunaga Haruho. The unique colors of Nishikigoi are dyed using a seven-color gradient, and the entire scale is decorated with fan-shaped gold. To make them look more realistic, each fish is dyed with a different pattern - black, red, or blue. When exposed to sunlight, they shine silvery white.

  • Gold-colored Crescent Moon Carp [Gou]

The powerful swimming and shining crescent moon express the large scale of the fish.

The traditional dyeing technique is used to create a gradation effect, resulting in a vibrant color. The carp streamers are made with gorgeous aluminum gold leaf, and a crescent moon shining through the gaps in the clouds expresses strength and scale. The streamers are based on a deep green color, and are dotted with the "iris pattern" closely associated with the Boy's Festival, which expresses the celebration of the birth of a child and the wish for their healthy growth.

  • Mitsuhashi Jun's Carp Streamer [Song of May]

A collaboration between tradition and art

We have combined the traditional Japanese culture of carp streamers with art to create a new carp streamer, developed in collaboration with dyeing artist Jun Mitsuhashi.

Mitsuhashi Jun's soft, warm-hearted style of painting has given new value to carp streamers while respecting tradition. These colorful, warm-hearted carp streamers seem to have jumped out of the artwork.
